The Association Of Builders And Developers Of Pakistan (Abad)

The Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) is a national-level representative body for private-sector builders and developers, formed in 1972 to unify and streamline construction activity across the country. It is registered under the Companies Ordinance, 1984, licensed under the Trade Organizations Ordinance, 2007, and is affiliated with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

ABAD's core objectives include unifying builders and developers for their collective good, promoting the housing industry nationally, assisting the government in formulating housing policies and plans, and coordinating between its members, the government, and other agencies. It also works to resolve problems its members face during project execution.

The association operates on democratic lines, with an elected Chairman, Senior Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Managing Committees, along with separate regional Chairmen for its Southern Region (Karachi) and Northern Region (Lahore). ABAD has played a significant role in shaping Pakistan's National Housing Policy and the Sindh Building Control Ordinance, and continues to engage with government bodies on issues affecting the construction and real estate sector.
