Pro-poor housing and housing finance. Housing is a basic need and fundamental right of every human being. Housing provides space and shelter for households to live in privacy, security and dignity. It also provides a point of reference on which one can get other services and utilities from city fathers/administrators. Access to housing is a key social determinant to ensure social status and well-being of the households. Providing of adequate housing to the citizens of a country is an essential component of Millennium Development Goals.
