Africa is at a center of two significant crises, which are the lack of affordable housing and the growing effects of climate change. The combination of these problems has brought to the fore one of the most acute socio-economic and environmental challenges of the continent nowadays. With the increase in temperatures, the patterns of rainfalls change and the occurrence of extreme weather conditions increases, the weakness of the African housing systems, particularly to the low-income communities, has become more evident. The already limited affordable housing becomes more endangered by the floods, droughts, heat waves, and degradation of the infrastructure caused by climate.
